Photographer's Note

It's been a hectic 2009...recession bite is still so real...many friends across the globe are facing an uphill task to tackle the meltdown...it's a tough road ahead, through jungles and mountains of trouble...Here's wishing everyone in TE a very happy, satisfying and RICHER new year...
About the photo: this was taken during Kuanri pass trek in the Uttranchal Himalayas in India...It was a wet morning...was wondering how to continue trekking in a slippery weather like this...but as i stepped out of my tent i was greeted with this out-of-the-world view, the rainbow adding value to it!! The Kuari pass trek is amongst the best in the Garhwal mountains. The trail takes you through lush green fields, remote villages and virgin forests...Lord Kurzon made the trek to Kuari pass , and since then it has come to be known as Curzon's trail... It is very popular among European and American Travelers. In 1905 Lord Curzon reached Kauari pass from Ghat via Ramni. Today many trekkers preffer to undertake the trek in the reverse direction... The main attraction of Curzon's trails is the majestic viwe of the twin peaks of Nanda Devi , Kamet , Dronagiri and Hathi-Ghodi Parvat.
PS: It's been a long time i have been away from TE...Hope to find my old friends and some new friends too :o)
