Photographer's Note
The focus of the story is monk behind. The tour guide in front was a piece of work..but at the same time the centre of attraction..he had all the jokes and the anecdotes..he sought all the attention.
This shot was moments earlier when he was talking about the materialism in the world..marriage..money..love etc. He is not a monk and the one behind is.
The monk on hearing this turned thoughtful choosing to reflect more than be a part of the conversation..something that trouble him..
Thats when i had said something..cracked a joke or took a dig..(dont remember exactly) at the tour guide. This did make a difference..and the monks face lit up..thats what i wanted to see.
We should try and make a difference talking to people..strangers..who we may not meet the rest of our lives..the few moments we share are priceless...especially when you can capture and freeze a moment..
The expressions say it all..dont you think.
The most important thing you are doing is the one you are engaged with right now..
The most important people are the ones who are around you
Make a difference..cam or no cam !
Are you gearing up for the weekend or what ? :))
Cheers.

Hey Sayeed! I've been away for a while now. I'm back and you had the time to post many good pics!
Those black and white portraits are definitely my fave in your gallery!
You'll say I'm very stubborn and that I always say the same thing, but I'll say it nonetheless: You need the context for a portrait to be really efficient. It's either the context or a VERY interesting face or expression or relationship between the people in your portrait.
for example, I find that the relationship is better, more interesting in the workshop. Except that FOR ME (I'm not a pro, remember, it's just my opinion!!), the focus should really be on the one in the foreground.
Here, I find it interesting (and I must say that it grew on me since I first looked at it an hour ago). I like the sincere smile of the one in focus and the smile on the side of the other one. Good chemistry between the 2 and you.
I love your tones. You really have a good routine in preparing your b/w!
I loved your note.
regards,
Marc

Hey Sayeed,
Really nice and sincere smiles you captured here.
A beautiful and good note as well.
You're doing very good work on the contrast and tones in your b/w pictures.

Nice warm and spontaneous picture of these two men. Had yo not mentioned n the note no body could have make out that the man in focus is monk, so much strong is the language of color(or convention). But really a great photo and nice DOF with brilliant light control.

Hello Sayeed!
Excellent double portrait, great tight framing and composition, great "interaction" with you "models". Perfect choice of b&w. Unusual choice to focus on the man in the second plane, but it works very well. congratualtions!

Hi, Sayeed.
Great double portrait.
I like their expressions and using of DOF.
I am a little disturbed by the white thing in the right corner. I made a WS : is not better, it's just my vision of this picture.
Best regards. Grazyna.

Sayeed,
Thanks for leading me here, I do love the shot, idealy, it would have been nice to have both of them in good sharpness. But with the front one blur, it makes us focus on the one on the back which I do find have a very pleasant smiles that brighten up the world. thanks
Way
