This is a very nice portrait of mother and daughter -- always a touching subject!
With all respect to the original scene, though -- to me, the presentation seemed a little thin and washed-out. I have tried to help that by selective dodging and burning, adding brightness and contrast, and increasing the saturation.

I love the composition of this but agree with Russ about the quality.

Its nice to have subjects with their eyes away from the camera, but what sometimes makes a very strong photos is when one of the subjects is looking at the camera - here the little girl maybe.
