Photographer's Note

During my visit to Goa I was looking for some nice, quiet place with not too much tourists. Following the tip from an Australian couple I met in Nepal, I went to Palolem beach. It took 4 days from Nepal (Royal Chitwan national park) to Goa – 1 4x4, 1 small truck, 3 buses, 2 trains. It was a perfect place, without big hotels and with some people around just to not feel lonely. I stayed in a small hose with sandy under my feet. The best thing was that south of Palolem beach walking for hours was nothing, only this small village and kilometers and kilometers of deserted beaches. The village on the picture was without any tourist, only locals. But this was in 1999. Today maybe all this changed. Boats like those on the picture are used for fishing.

Picture is scanned. Brightness, contrast and saturation increased. Sharpened.
