Photographer's Note

This is my first post from my short trip to India. We landed in Mumbai on June 29th. I didn't take my Rebel, but took my Sony point-and-shoot instead. The Rebel would have allowed for much better picture quality, but I didn't feel like lugging it around due to its size. Plus, my trusty Sony takes some decent pics, so I wasn't too worried.

One of our first stops was Chowpatty Beach, one of the most popular from what we were told. We were also told that our timing was pretty lousy a number of times. We figured that out pretty quick because it rained like nobody's business. On the right-hand side of this picture you can see that it's quite dark. You can see the rain coming in over the water, and a couple of minutes after I took this shot we had to run for cover.

These kids were having a good time, and although you can't tell from this shot, the water was pretty choppy. There were some huge waves and I'm guessing there would have been a lot of undercurrents. They seemed to enjoy themselves nonetheless..

***Post-processing: adjusted levels and curves, upped brightness and contrast a bit, desaturated (pic was taken in color, but was basically black and white anyways), re-sized and sharpened. Nothing too fancy..

I have a few other pics worth posting, but not as many as I had hoped. Oh well, I'm glad a got the few that I did. The humidity made my camera act weird, and some of the batteries that I picked up while in India weren't the best either.

Hope you like it,
