Photographer's Note

A simple street portrait of a Rajasthani woman taken from a distance while sitting in a small chai shop in Jodhpur.

I noticed this quite a colourful lady gracefully trying to make use of what little shade there was on that hot day. It's quite a spectacle gleamed within the small area of my view finder and everything in sight seems to point Rajasthan towards that colour and the traditional imagery that is hard to describe.

It's always a joy to see and the temptation to capture was a hard one to resist. Having said that, it's best to let this image speak for itself and be dazzled by the deep pink beauty....

Setting: 300 mm, 1/500 sec, F5.6, ISO 200, 0905 hrs

Good that you got reflections in both eyes despite the shadows in that part of her face. Effective tight framing with fantastic sharpness and good use of a shallow dof in this marvellous portrait. Tfs!
