Photographer's Note

Ribandar is a village nestled between the main city of Panjim(Goa's capital)and Old Goa in Tiswadi district.

Vasco da Gama landed in Calicut in 1498 on the west cost of India, several hundred miles south of Goa, and thus became the first person to find a sea route from Europe to India around the Cape of Good Hope.
The Portuguese arrived in Goa in 1510 and the Church building was one of the main occupations of the early Portuguese and in fact one of Vasco da Gama's main motive for finding the sea route to India...
