En Inde on rencontre trčs peu de femmes les cheveux au vent en dehors de leur domicile, qu'elles soient hindoues ou musulmanes
Celle-ci sur le chemin de Galta, prčs de Jaipur a l'air d'une tzigane. Je pourrais l'appeller Esmeralda

One meets in India very few women without any veil outside their home. This one on the road to Galta, close to Jaipur looks like a gypsy. I might have called her Esmeralda

Un bon portrait, avec un angle de prise de vue inhabituel et intéressant. J'aurais peut-ętre recadré ŕ gauche, pour supprimer un peu de l'étoffe fushia, qui attire le regard et le détourne du visage. En tout cas, c'est une image trčs intéressante. Si tu le souhaites, tu peux voir quelques portaits réalisés en inde du nord sur mon site,

Salut Patrick!
I disagree about the crop of fushia, it adds a lot of charm to this impressice portrait, and makes a color balance with her pink bracelets. Plus, she has quite a face, almost the energy of an actress! Any good photog would die to make a striking portrait of her face.

your Esmeralda is very cute. Technically well done photo. I have a few words about something different. Esmeralda seems very poor woman, however piercing, bracelets, necklace show us that "woman is woman; in everywhere, every conditions". They are very sensitive about beauty.

Dear Patrick,
The portrait is good and your obseravtion is correct - there is hardly any womenin Rajasthan state of india that you will find without a veil. i also agree that she is a gypsy.
However, if you have titled the photo to the like of gypsy (I guess Esmeralda means so) then you could have zoomed the lady a little less closer to include more parts of her belongings to symbolize that she is a gypsy. Currently only the rags to the left are attempting to do so.

Otherwise a good shot.

Beautiful photo, Patrick.

You have a talent for shooting subjects with mesmerizing eyes and expressive looks. What I find particularly appealing about this image is that I cannot discern this woman's expression. Her stare is as mysterious and unknown as her past. Lovely touches of color: the pinks, greens, and purples make the picture more eye-catching and vibrant. Wonderful framing and composition as always. Thanks for sharing.

Voilŕ pour moi un portrait marquant.
Tu me souffles le commentaire de la bouche, car cette femme ŕ la beauté capiteuse mérite bien ce nom: Esmeralda. Esmeralda de Galta. Une gitane qui a de la noblesse. Dans ce portrait, la sensualité le dispute ŕ la force morale et agit par un envoűtement immédiat et singulier. Les yeux semblent pleurer quand la bouche paraît gourmande, et le petit collier de travers lui donne un air encore plus sauvage et provocateur. Les couleurs sont aussi généreuses que la grâce dont la dame est dotée. Le mouvement de sa main sur son front me rappelle aussi les anciennes héroďnes de cinéma, comme Ava Gardner, comtesse aux pieds nus. Les matelas plus ou moins sales en arričre-plan mettent encore davantage l'accent sur cette dualité pauvreté/allure de princesse. Une image qui flirte avec l'archétype du conte de fées (De Cendrillon ŕ Peau d'âne) mais elle pourrait faire aussi une formidable Shéhérazade. Un grand bravo.

quel portrait!!!
un regard saisissant accentué par le khol...un brin de tristesse et beaucoup de tenacité en meme temps...mais je ne saurai rivaliser avec le commentaire si juste et si attentif de Marine!!!
les couleurs sont superbes( pour moi le fushia a bien sa place dans cette photo!)

Bonjour, un tres beau portrait effectivement inhabituel pour ces contrees, mais qui renforce la beaute de ces femmes.. ne dit on pas que les gitans et autres nomades d'europe sont originaires de cette partie du monde ? Le regard est ici magnifiquement capte et tu as bien reussi le eye contact.. Par ailleurs ce fond de matelas est voluptueux et occupe bien l espace.. Lim
