Photographer's Note

This sulphur refining plant( or what remains of it) has been in a state of disrepair and consequent dilapidation in the Rupshu area of Ladakh.

I always imagine it as a refuelling base for UFO's .....and as here is a hotbed of geothermal activity steam hisses out of the ground and provides both boiling water as well as a superb semblance of a lunar settlement!

Have never been able to drive by without halting....always a "must stop" for me.

this is indeed proof that we are not alone - if you were an extra terrestial where else would you choose to land but Ladakh, you would feel at home immediately in the weird landscape!
They certainly make for an interesting photo

I WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT OF TAKING THIS PICTURE BUT THE RESULT IS OUTSTANDING BY ITS SHEER QUALITY AND LUMINOSITY! WOW (oups, i typed in capital letters and I am too lazy to restart...). The clouds help a lot to make this shot like my shot of the indus river the other day...i love the light and a perfect compo! congrats Vijay!

Will echo Eric's comment and say very well seen and captured. What I find outstanding in this shot is the light and colors. Though this looks like straight out of camera, must still ask if u did any PP on this to get this fantastic result.

The shade on the mountain underlines its massivestructure. UFOs indeed have appeared on the Earth.
