Photographer's Note
On our trek to Chandratal in the Himalayas, we lost our way and stumbled upon this lake and initially mistook it for Chandratal. Later having found the real Chandratal, we named this Chhota(Little) Chandratal. The view in the backdrop was the CB range having the highest peak of the region Mulkila Peak and the Samudratapu Glacier emanating from it.
To reach this place, you have to cross Rohtang La coming from Manali and then proceed left towards Kunzum La. After passing through Chhatru n Chhota Dara, you reach Batal, which is around 150 Kms from Manali n 15 Kms from Chandratal. Although a couple of those 15 Kms is motorable, it is better to start trekking from Batal itself.
Here is another uploaded photo of beautiful Chhota Chandratal on TE.
See Chandratal for more details.

Hi Amol - fantastic mountain scenery and the sharpness and colours are excellent. I wonder why this shot has not attracted more attention from other members.

hi great shot but..... way too much blue.got to be an artefact.may be jpeg and not too much one can do to subdue the blue sky.but there is a amazing shot in it .the sky cloulds are not letting the eye settle to the main subject.... lake moutons, little nalas or valleys between them. the cure is i think is crop above the mountains keeping just a quarter of the sky and thus giving 16 by 9 look to the image which is what the eye sees in real life. i think.end result wiil be the eye can settle and trip around the many real-estate.s or areas it has. new to te will learn the post to workshop thing cheers.any feedback will be appreciated regarding i know sky is blue but why so blue..a cheaper camera or camera settings or.....?much thanks.first time doing it hope it classifies as critiquing.
