Praying Ganesh, a photo from Tamil Nadu, South

Photographer's Note

Madurai, the next step of my travel. For me, unforgivable city. Why ? Thanks to Henk (oochappan), Anand (anandselvi)and Ramesh (ramesh432).
If one day you decide to visit Madurai between January and March, do not forget to advise them. The welcoming was a stunning and beautiful surprise, I will never forget it. Thank you so much "wokala guys" ;o)

This picture has been taken in the Meenakshi Temple.
The enormous temple complex is dedicated to Shiva, known here as Sundareshvara and his consort Parvati or Meenakshi.
This woman was praying Ganesha.

PS : the focus has been made on the hands and Dolinade style approach move ;o)

good one, i like it for a different reason.
as for my experince with these type of shots, people dont like your subject to turn back on you. i am not that orthodox on these lines, and tend to get many shots like this. so, i like it.

Une belle Dolinade ici, Luan! pas facile de creer de l'interet "de dos" mais tu as bien resussi ici avec cette aproche angulaire. Beau pique sur ses mains - tres important!

Excellent Luan, J'adore comme dčs que tu ouvres l'image, l'attention est dirigée vers les mains de la femme, et puis, de ses mains vers la petite flamme, jusqu'au Ganesh, le pilier et le background en général. Les couleurs sont trčs D50 avec une vive rouge et des splendides détails. Un travail superbe! Sabine

All prayers should start with a dedication to Ganesh, that is what an indian friend of mine told me once... Interesting fact that you decided to focus the attention on the hands, risky choice but effective, it helps communicate a sense of deference towards the prayers. Well done!

I like these daily life shots. I need to shoot more now and post some to TE soon. The DOF is cool. I like how you isolated the hands. Hands for me are so expressive, I love shooting and focusing on thoise smaller details as well.

L'autre point "crowded" du Menaksi.
Pas facile ŕ photographier, lui non plus.
Intéressant parti pris, le focus sur les mains.
On pourrait presque voir une mairesse française avec son écharpe tricolore...

ben moi je n'accroche pas sur ce dos ... la MAP sur les mains ok, mais elle prennent une si petite place dans l'image, alors que si tu as fait la MAP dessus c'est qu'elles ont un rôle important ... il aurait fallu que tu poses ton objectif sur l'eapule de la demoiselle (pas sűr qu'elle eut accepté comme dirait Me Cappello)
et que tu fasses ta MAP ...
Au moins cela te fait une excuse pour y retourner !
