Chinese Net..., a photo from Kerala, South

Photographer's Note

some of my friends might ask me why posting always chinese net photos?

there are lots of answers...

for me, first of all, it's making endless beauty mainly in combination with sunsets!

another thing, it's the sybol of cochin...

it's not a mdern equipment, like our camera or pc!

before 2000 or more years ago it has come to kerala backwaters thru chinese travellers, and it's structure remain unchanged throuought this period... it's very natural, made of long tree branches, (offcourse, nylon nets are there!)

let me stop... this much reasons are enough to post a chinese net photo!

All your Chinese net photos are very nice and are different with beautiful natural colours like this one.The shot is so perfectly exposed that it feels like captured by a DSLR.The warm colour of the sky and its reflection is very nice, looks like a canvas painting.Tfs and Regards,

Another breathtaking postcard from Kerala, the colours are simply gorgeous. Time seems to stand still here. Perhaps the scene was almost same 2000 years ago.

you are right,these chinese nets are very important in the Cochin's culture,and as they are very photogenic,you have no reason to stop.Your photos are always wonderful,and I am never tired to see them,even if the subject comes back time to time.hanks to share this one with its superb colors.Best regards.

Hi Promod.The whole setting is marvellous. Excellent shot of sunset with adequate silhouettes. Cochin means churches, synagogues, backwater, nice people and of course this unimitable Chinese net. The folklore says that traders from the court of the Chinese ruler Kublai Khan introduced these chinese fishing nets to Cochin. The city never seems to be in a hurry, but I was as so many things to catch up with. Regards.

This is an interesting way of fishing, not the least because it is an mechanical way!
I think the point of view is good in order to show the setup, and of course the sun is an important element too...

Pramod ji, Orange dominates in this shot of yours. The paly of silhoutess especially on the right side of the frame attracts as lot.

Problem of the photo: it looks a bit tilt.
