Outstanding, and that's all I got to say.
You more than made up for your last crappy depavali picture.
I wish I could give you 7 bright green faces today to make up for the fading green face I gave you yesterday.

This is an awesome shot Siddhartha. The combination of the boats and the chess pieces is great.

Interesting shot this Siddhartha. I think the high contrast works well here, kinda goes nicely with the chess game i.e black vs white. The detail and sharpness are very pleasing and the composition is spot on.

The wide angle lens and the bw medium have been very intelligently exploited by you. The angle chosen is also very effective. Share more of your work please.

Hello Sidhartha.
Another fantastic photograph from you. Unfortunately because of the density of photographers roaming around India it is hard to get something that looks truly original. Sohrab has managed through talent and so you are demonstrating that you have the ability to provide some wonderful scenes. The high contrast looks great and again the tones of Tri-x have really classed up the photo. I'd love to see a print of this shot...a little burning at top and bottom...a light dodging of the mans face at right...a fine shot indeed.
Regards,
Chris.

Pure sense of observation, geometry and mastering of the narration process by the inclusion of such a wide angle of view in such an intelligent way. A favourite.

This is really a special way to portrait Varanasi Siddhartha.
Well seen and very original.
Great composition and technique.
Nice set up and balance.
Interesting(and sharp)back- and foreground.
The black and white works very well in this picture.

Hello Siddhartha,
Another wonderful one from Varanasi. I like your pov very much. I can remember Sohrab in TE who had portrayed Varanasi beautifully and after that your photographs are of that very high quality. I like it.

First of all thankyou for the humbling video The pale blue. Well worth the watch. Secondly, I like the angle you have here over the two chess players. His head isn't mixed up with the boats in the distance so helps keep a nice clean look to the b&w image. The Tri-X grain looks really good as well. Wish I could be bothered shooting film again. One day.
Like your gallery and will be back.
best regards,
Mark

Fantastic composition, boats like paws sitting on the sides of the chess game.
This is like a multidimensional game, there's on a smaller scale the checker and then, zooming out, a real life chess game where paws are boats, whilst two bishops of black and white colors are defying each other, face to face.
(Lemme congratulate you for achieving what is in Trekearth the Everest climbing task of making it into Gal's fav box. You're now allowed parading with a crown of laurels thru Kolkata.)

very clever composition again. the boats mirror the chesspieces in such a cosmic manner. as if someone with greater authority will start playing with the boats like these men are playing with the counters.
great shot!

technically bit lacking sidd but just forget that part which you can brush up..but as Photography this is second series which is highly successful from Varanasi.
1st is ofcourse of Sohrab.
This is something over developed highlights around boat area.
Now I am going little bit in depth. I personally hate to say or care such a things but when photo is so nice than it matters while reading the Photo.
I am concerned about unnecessary over lapping of two people by right side Chess player on foreground. Wheter you must hide them completly( Which I prefer or keep them as seperate Entity in poto with their own life & own world.
Beauitful work Sidd.

Failed to comment on this one too, but I'm catching up! Love the perspective here, where tiny men to the right vie with chess pieces for size... ha ha. Beautiful disposition of the boats in the water - a great Benaras picture for sure.
Fine use of the 28mm length.
Cheers,
Francis
