Photographer's Note
I remember very well the date of this picture. Was the 50th aniversary of the independence from the British. Streets were full of joy as well as beachs and as well as this photograph. I know it would need a little bit more of definition but I think it gets compensated with the hapiness of the people in the water. Thank you.
12/29/2004... Since what happened in Asia this pictures has a strange effect on me, I dont know if I like it or not.

There is a lot of atmosphere in this pic, I can understand you can't forget this moment, that's why I aprove your sharing very much and like you said more definition would help to bring over the message here.

Very nice pic with a lot of softness in the wave, which I like very much. I really don't mind the lack of definition, to the contrary, it goes well with the general mood. I would consider cropping the bottom part (about 1") to place the main subject, the man with the white shirt, a little less centered.

Very interesting image. The long exposure created a very nice effect on the water and did not blur the people too much.
But there are some scaning problems. Made a WS. hope you like it!

It's not easy for me as a non-participant to see all the life you describe... I like the clear people (yet unsharp) and the energic water. I think if you'de lower the camera a bit to get rid of some sky and include more water it could improve... Or taken it horisontal...

Miguel, the survivers of the tragedy will pick themselve up and this sort of scene that you have created will happen once more, for the 60, 100, year aniversaries. These are a strong people well used to severe conditions and heartbreak. Your photo is even more relevant now.
And it is a great humannity photo, no matter about the unsharp scan.

This photo is something really special, one of these hard to get photos because you need to be very delicate with using the right speed. It becomes even more special because of the new, sad connotation it gets these days.
