Photographer's Note
....some would say, oh the poor man, not aware anymore how it would feel to be free of the burden wealth taking it for well-being ? His home, the station-wall, on top of the world.

Hi Henk,
Excellent street photography this is.Lovely capture.Like the expression and smile in the man's face. The details and the posture of the man in the backdrop of the colourful wall really has made it look very elegant indeed.
Greetings from India,

Hi Henk.
Isn't it incredible to consider that, with all the wealth the world generates and all the hot air that the leaders of the world's nations generate, that this still goes on?
It's the same in the UK (probably to a lesser extent) but it should still not happen in today's society.
Great shot. I'm amazed that this guy can find it in him to smile. Love the colours and composition - very odd pose but boy does it work!
Regards, Paul.

Superbe Henk,
le point de vue sur les pieds fait beaucoup dans le charme de cette photo mais le portrait avec ce mur taggé est le plat de résistance.

A good photo of a sad situation. I am planning to post my first portrait of a poor boy in Manila, but still thinking how to present it (the note).
I have mised feeling about the texture of the legs. Is that real, noise or excess of PP?
Excellent work

My kind of photography..!
With the huge balls and even HUGER guts...
A conscious photography...
A designed photography...
You knew what'd you want...
You knew how to do it...
You did it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now...How difficult it can be ?
Obviously...Very difficult, for - I don't see SUCH ONES around too many !!!!!
Live, smiling and vibrant...( I mean - this presentation)!)
Stay cool, bro

Hi Henk,
this shot is amazingly powerful! I am not that keen on your color pp but it works pretty well! The position of this drunk man is just so funny looking straight at you!
I love the b&w photo called "My big brother". It is a very sensible shot:!-)
Have a nice trip! when do you leave?

This is a strong picture by the POV, just a powerfull poverty and disability...
They are more numerous than rich people so, thy may be kings or presidents ! Thanks for your annual visit to Madurai where you go again, I know you are not only offerng photographs in your trips.
Sincerely
Jean Michel

This version is indeed better, although I liked the previous one too, BG brighter if I remember well ? Square is just perfect, with more emphasis on his big feet - even more amazing like this, I like so much his "laissez faire" expression, his contented look...
I'll add it to my favourites, don't want to forget, c'est vraiment top class !
Have a safe trip to India, LW :))

Oh! what is happening to my monitor: this man is coming out!
I pick him by his feet and I put him inside again.
But he is still smiling here around, poor man.
Vivid colors you managed for him, Henk!
Thank you also for the othe two pictures

Hi, Henk.
Georgious portrait of homeless man with feet :oO.
I like these big feet, and I like his attitude and his expression : He don't complain, he seems be happy...
Beautiful composition, scene and colors.

Dag Henk,
Groeten,
John.

He must be so unified with the wall that, they also painted him with a spray, and he seems so happy from the result of this spraying action.
Colors of Madurai never cease surprizing us...
Maybe, the closer the people get to the stone age, the happier they become. But i am still prone to the civilization side...

Hello Henk,
I've been away from TE for a long time and it's good to come back and review an image of the king of street photography.....that's you Henk. I often wish I was unburdened by everyday life but I couldn't live on a wall up here....it's too wet, cold and windy! Great colour throughout and good depth too. It's another fine capture Henk, well seen once more.

Stephen

It's amazing he seems so pleased about being photographed! If he is really as down-and-out as he looks, then in my experience people like him usually feel like a photographer is exploiting them, or they feel ashamed, or for whatever reasons they just don't want to put themselves on display to the world. But this guy seems fine with it! I like the prominence of his feet, worn and weathered in keeping with his life. Regards, Ken.
