Photographer's Note

Harki Pauri in Haridwar is the nerve centre of all religious activities in the town. This is where people congregate in large numbers during the day to take a dip in the holy Ganges river, and by night the place is even more packed with devotees and tourists trying to catch a glimpse of the daily 'Ganga Aarti'- the worship of the river using traditional lamps.

The red and white tower to the right is the Birla Tower and the shorter one to the right (grey/ brown/ dilapidated)-- well I would be glad if someone could tell me what that's for. Probably an ancient extention of one of the numerous temples nearby.
