Photographer's Note
Big smile of a fisherman who sold the fish he had caught. He sails his boat towards the bay of Jakarta and sell the catch of the night every morning.
The son of this man is helping.
If he could, Im sure he would had chosen to go to school instead. But the family's economic problem seems to hold him from going. This young man is not lucky enough to attain the education children deserve.

A very good and expressive daily life photo and an awfully incisive B&W. You really did a nice work here both in composition and in PP. Beside all I like how the fisherman is matched by the child.
An excellent capture,
Donato

Hello Lisa,
I really love the black and white photos that I liked very much. Excellent.

Hello Mona. Everyday life. Prepare fish. Nothing spectacular. The photo shows the real life. And yet these photos show much more of the real life of a country as monuments, etc. I do I like the photo. Rgds, Wolfgang.

Selamat sore Mbak Mona
There is something about B&W that makes us notice things that we don't notice with colour. B&W really picks out and draw the eye in and the impact is stronger. Superb image and story, a real daily life depicted here. Sometimes we don't realise how lucky we are. Great photojournalism and good documentary picture. Excellent shot, Congrats

Hi Mona Lisa
a wonderful B&W study with an exclusive look at an everyday slice of life. Nicely sharp and well composed to capture the fisherman's smile and his young assistant's nonchalance. Well done! Excellent work.

Hi Mona,
It's the kind of shots very difficult to take here because people don't like to be photographed, really another world. Always pleasant to see a smile and to feel a man happy at his work even it isn't a work very lucrative.
A nice daily scene.
Have a good week !
PS : it wasn't the hard disk where are my shots. ouf ! ;)

Hi Mona,
I like this better than your next shot as you get closer, and I see the man's expression more. I like the mono styled tone (kind of a sepia/b&w cross?) and the light is managed well. Maybe tiny bit sharper in some parts to be really fussy.
I do like these simple shots, a simple story, like Hemmingway's Old Man and the Sea, the sea tells of a simple life.
Cheers

Hi Mona,
Nice timing with this shot.... there is really good balance in it....you sharpness and light management is also very good - it certainly does have a everyday work life feel to it.
Well done and thank you for sharing

Hi Mona
A great and expressive shot with a good framing and a very good quality. The B&W choice enhances the situation. Your note is also interresting about the boy's life. he has no really the choice but is it a worse life than working in a compagny?
