It hardly matters what the weather would bring them. It is their living .. fishing. These small time fishermen fight the weather and the dangers of the sea through their will to live and let their family live. In this photo a group of fishermen just returned home bringing the catch on the beach at Mandar village, Banyuwangi located on the tip of East Java.

Hello Abmdsudi,
Picture with two dominating subjects: the sailboat and the fishermen at work.
Light had enhaned the yellow color of the boat and the sail was inflated by the back-wind, a fine object spotted and added. Holding the net, which is transparent with backlight, those guys were busy with their job - not noticing you and the camera in presence.

Photographing = writing with the light, and here we get a good example: the low light is coloring in yellow the sail whereas the sailors are emptying their nets. Amazing color contrasts

Amazing that what we see here is these men's occupations, the strive to survive when it looks so much like such a pleasant scene, I guess the beautiful light helps create this effect. The colors through the sky are superb and make this a very special moment. Great that you share it here, as no doubt the men were so busy working that they barely noticed the amazing backdrop behind them. An everyday scene that looks really beautiful, that's hard to do.

a great scene, the description is efficient and atmospheric, the group of fishermen share the results and the feelings of a day spent at sea. I like very much the eye-catching sail that leans towrds them and that they are mysterious, archetypal figures, representing a global theme in a characteristic local setting. Fishing is a hard life and I have witness a few deadly accidents in the old country while trying to make a living out of the sea. But this image is beautifully presented in spite of the dangers. Love the lighting and colors created by the early morning sun. Very well done, tfs.

Hi Abmdsudi,
spectacular picture as usual in your gallery.
The light is challenging but you have used it perfectly here. Sky was brilliant with some orange tones hanging over the horizon. The boat adds a nice motif and seems to have a characteristic shape, similarly to the hats of people at work. I like how the first rays of sun subtly touch the silhouettes of people. What I like a lot are the deep shadows. Quite strange -in the past I tended to avoid them at all cost and later I was decreasing them by using HDR -now I enjoy them, they are adding depth, feeling of reality, they are natural.
