Photographer's Note

Pic of an outrigger fishing canoe stemming the tide on the Straits of Bali when the sunrise was smothered by the mist. More or less straight out of the camera - except the crop with an adjustment of the white balance and levels. Wish to have it on the left of frame ideally but sometimes we have to make do with what we are given. Hope the tones have worked and thanks for looking.

Taken at Mandar fishing village in Banyuwangi on the eastern tip of East Java.

Setting: 200 mm, 1/125 sec, F2.8, ISO Raw 100, 0616 hrs

A lovely ethereal composition with these delicate lights and the apricot tinged sky. I don't have a problem with the placement of the fishing boat, there is still plenty of water on the right for it to sail into.

J'aime beaucoup cette composition. La belle voile triangulaire, presque translucide est bien placée dans le cadre et les montagnes derričre sont toutes en douceur.

If my memory is correct this is a 'jakung', a three sided sailcloth boat common in Indonesia. I love the minimalist color, and aerial perspective. The composition is fine. Tfs!

A simple and wonderful composition, with only the boat, the silhouettes of the mountains in a fantastic fading of grey tones, and the misty sky.
The soft colors give a nice and calm atmosphere in this landscape.
