Photographer's Note
The entrance of Ubud Palace Puri Saren Agung, but only the little entrance at both sides are open.
Puri Saren Agung (Royal Palace, Water Palace), (across Jl Raya Ubud from Ubud Market). 9AM-5PM daily. This was the palace of the kings of Ubud until the 1940s, and some royal descendants live there to this day. The compound has many ornate corners and was mostly built after the 1917 earthquake. Parts of the complex are off limits to the public, but entry to the rest is free.

Hi Ally,
The trees are framing well the palace. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the architecture of the Ubud Palace. The late morning light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Ciao Ally
Nice to see this in pastel colors. The strong tropical light usually means high contrast & polarized deep blue skies. Good choice of a verticl frame & you've captured the guardian statues wearing the b&w check saris. Tfs!

Hi Ally,
You're capturing well this architecture by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's impressive and interesting to see old palace with dignity. It's harmonized well by symmetric and good design. That it is a stone construction also feels a grave character for a building. And, it's intersting in some sculptures and gold entrance gate, too. I knew this architecture firtly, thogh I thought that Ubud is famous resort place of Bali with greenery. Thanks for sharing!

mikio

Hi Ally
I am back again after enough rest!
A very elegant Balinese traditional architecture, an artistic cultural life centre for the Balinese, a well famed by the shady trees. Amazing structure, superb building and shapes and I can see why this attracted you, a marvellous image and in its environment, as part of the scene and not just a building on its own. Simply stunning, the exposure has brought the detail beautifully with excellent depth and dof with good angluar lines. Well lit, full of vibrance and the image just leaps out at you in great colours in crispy sharpness. Green boosts the visual effect overall. Excellent shot seems to be totally indicative of the neatness of your work and you have done it more than justice. An aesthetically pleasing shot, Well done and good acompanying note. My congrats
Best regards

I wonder so much seeing such a compound like this taking me to a time as trying to imagine the actual society. At least the compound is a witness of power. Emperors liked comfort. Nevertheless I cannot imagine the living conditions of the common citizen. The construction shows up a great knowdlegment and wealth. Which God or Gods indonesian people were adoring? Seeing such a thing lits up a glow flame inside me giving me a certain faith hope. By the tower both sides must be curled dragons. A hug. Tomi
