That's the strength of pulling!

A shot from Lake Tempe, South Sulawesi, very early morning just after a dawn that never was!! It's a grey dull morning and just had to make the best of the poor light. One of the most harsh working conditions I
have ever seen and another way of life. Small stilted huts in the distant waters is where the fish farmer lives to keep the fish in.

It would appear that the lack of modern mechanisation has little effect on this fisher folk and soon hell see if it was worth it.

I am sure he will win in the end........

Setting: 125 mm, 1/500 sec, F7.1, ISO Raw 320, 0709 hrs.

Very interesting photo. Would be nice to see what success the fisherman had with his giant net. Looks like a lot of work. He has 4 knots of rope to go.

Hello Abmdsudi,
A great view of the lake in the early morning and excellent timing to capture the man pulling so hard on the rope. The bright yellow, red and green of the boat stands out so well from the grey water and low-hanging clouds of the morning. I like the quite low viewpoint you used as well.

the fishermen pulling and pulling is the key here, it takes the scene up to another higher level. We can almost feel his effort through the photo. smart cut and crop to make it stand out too. even without the lighting that you wanted it turned out to be a fine scene. cheers

Your photograph seems almost simplistic and yet the figure reveals great strength and movement, as he hauls on his nets.
The greyness of the sky and the b/g means that the bright line of the narrow boat stands out extremely well. It really is a superb focal point against the general greyness.
