~ a splash of Colour ~, a photo from Sulawesi Selatan, Sulawesi

Photographer's Note

Whoever parked these canoes on the shore of Salomate village, Lake Tempe, must have had an eye for colour composition. All I had to do was frame the shot and press the shutter release. These are traditional
canoes or 'katinting', a long and shallow draft canoes widely used by native Bugis inhabitants as main transportation around the shallow lake as well as in extensive inland rivers and swampy canals.

Just for the pure celebration of colour on a slight greyish morning....

Setting: 16 mm, 1/80 sec, F16, ISO Raw 320, 0703 hrs

The colour combination is really beautiful indeed. Vibrant and saturated, this kind of hues are normally associated with neon lights. I like your composition with diagonal lines separated by dull tones of water and soil.

J'aime beaucoup la construction de cette image. J'aime le fait que les trois longues barques pointent dans la męme direction et qu'elles soient de couleurs différentes.

This is so different from your last photograph, there is no sense of toil, here, just a wonderful vibrancy from the near parallel boats.
The muddy beach makes a strong contrast with these colourful boats.

I really like how the narrow and long boats add some diagonal lines to the photo. Their colours are really bright and eye-catching and stand out so well from the dark and grey water and mud in the background. Well captured from a good angle.

I like this shot because its so different. Its something that is only from your camera, not a scene that many photographers capture. Fun to see the strong angled lines, and the colours which exist inside of them. creative shot
