Photographer's Note

An early morning rise and a half hour walk to this location as the sun was beginning to peek out slightly above the horizon, giving an eerie glow. It was quite a dramatic scene with the cloud formations looked so heavy it almost seemed they would fall down onto the peaceful bay just long enough to create this dramatic and rather menacing view.

A jaw dropping beauty of nature at its finest in this near theatre apocalyptic momment.

Shooting Location: Ipi Bay in Ende district, south central Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia.

hai colto un attimo con una luce straordinaria contrastata dalle nuvole che annunciano la pioggia. I colori sono straordinari, la composizione eccellente e il soggetto molto piacevole.

I like : the global light, fantastic orange and blue tones, the perfect sky, the disposition of the boats.

I don't like : the lack of focus and sharpness on the boats

I miss those beautiful tropical clouds, while growing up in the Philippines I used to imagine the clouds as figures such as animals, mountains and others. Nice capture of those storms clouds that promises some heavy rain coming. Love the colors of the sky. Very well done, tfs.

Apocalyptic really is the word, my jaw dropped when I opened the thumbnail to tis spectacle. This looks almost like a living creature, and a dangerous one at that. The position of the boats is superb, they look small, flimsy and inconsequential in the face of this glorious natural wonder. Just like this mornings meteor strike in Russia, a reminder of our true place in the world. Really stunning colour.
