Photographer's Note

Karang Bolong gets its name from the unusual hole in the rock, which has a path up to this lookout. ('karang' = rock & 'bolong' = hole). Karang Bolong is near Anywer & Carita Beach, in West Java.

There are still traces inland against the hills, of the 30 metre high 1883 tsunami, from the mega explosion of Krakatoa volcano, which is just 40 km away from here. The haze is from volcanic ash.
