Photographer's Note

The Kamo-Gawa (Kamo River) runs through the heart of the Kyoto. It is one of the symbols of this many-sided city for 1200years.

Sometimes, the bank of this river was the execution ground. Sometimes it was an open-air theater for the Kabuki drama. And sometimes it was a SAKE garden.

This shot is taken on the Shijo-Ohashi Bridge. In the left side of the picture, you can see many wooden buildings of the restaurants (over 6000yen) and the OCHAYAs (Geisha teahouses) along the Ponto-Cho Street on the right bank of the river.

There are always people strolling on the riverside. Tourists, young couples, students....and the photographers.
