Photographer's Note

This photograph was taken in National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo Ueno. In this art museum, an occidental prominent painter's work is borrowed several times from art museum of abroad, and it is exhibiting for the year other than usual exhibition.
Now, it was carried out pictures and paints of dozens of points pictures and prints of Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes(1746-1828) which is the court painter of Spain chosen from Prado Museum for general public presentation. In front of this art museum, the "La Maja Vestide" poster of the masterpiece was stood greatly. It is a showy/remarkable poster which combined the work, the red outer frame/characters.
By the way, there is put on the sculpture of "Les Bourgeois de Calais" and "Le Penseur" etc,. of Rodin in courtyard of this art museum. This museum was founded in 1959 as the pictures and sculptures of impressionist from the 19th century to first half of 20th century, such as based on the Matsukata collection mainly. In addition to the Matsukata collection, permanent exhibition of the purchase of the Western pictures and the sculpture work from the Renaissance term to the beginning of the 20th century is advanced and carried out now. This poster was stretched also at the railway station. Probably, it is one of marketing strategy for attraction.
