One of the great experiences in Japan is an onsen - a hot bath taken outdoors if possible. The same forces that causes the earth quakes, tsunamis and that created Mount Fuji - the moving of the earth's plates, also generates natural thermal hot springs. The practice of taking warm baths in these springs has long been a part of the lives of people and monkeys in Japan.
