Photographer's Note
Here is another view from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (TMGB). It was taken from the 45th floor where there is a free observation deck.
The views from here are really good on a clear day, and it's possible to see Fuji san to the West. Unfortunately, clear days are pretty rare here, so you ususally have to make do with a view of the city itself.
The TMGB is in the Shinjuku area of downtown Tokyo - an area commonly known as Skyscraper City.
This photo was taken in the late afternoon when the sunlight had turned golden. I took it because I liked the way the sun made a path and illuminated one building.

wow what a scene!! I like those architectures, they all got different colors... for my opinion, I'd try to capture one or more of the top of these architecture... Anyway, great shot with a great note.

What a beautiful view. I feel dizzy! Very impressive photo with all these skyscrapers. Your idea to capture the time that the sun light up the one building is good. I also like the sharpness of your photo.

This is an unusual angle, but I like it. I can see the 'path' you are referring to, and I can understand it gave you a good reason of taking this photograph.
I also like the sharpness of the whole image, and this strange building in the background, which seems to be curved !
A great view of a magical moment, well seen.

Breathtaking, Dan! What a stupendous photo. Everything about it appeals to me: viewpoint, composition, sharpness, the whole idea... you name it. I would be very happy to be able to come up with an image like this! Thanks!

Beautiful light here, and that is one of the most important things in photography after all. Interesting looking at shots of buildings when you are aiming down instead of up. I like that the buildings diverge as they go up, as opposed to converging like they do if you are looking up. This is just a generally pleasing shot.

Very, very cool photograph! I have a particular love of photos of buildings...especially in big cities like New York and Chicago. This is a great shot of the sun illuminating this building in Tokyo. Very nicely done! Another interesting aspect is the way you can peak right through the two buildings at the top of this photo.

A wonderful shot, very dramatic. The way the light crosses the road and small buildings is very nice. Those buildings and the cars look so small.

Great perspective... Before reading your note I thought "it's a hard way for the sun to find a path between these buildings".

Very nice. A lot of detail. The light falling across the image is beautiful. The buildings are so solid and massive but the overall lighting softens them nicely. Really is like a forest. Especially with the open space at the bottom rather than having it filled as in New York, for example. Very nicely framed with the buildings and all around very nice. Great job.
