Bicycles, a photo from Aichi, Chubu

Photographer's Note

June 17th: After a day of work, the evenig I was walking around the hotel in the center of Nagoya, not so far from the rail station. Here I was surprised by the number of bicycles. All the streets around the station was full of bicycles. We say that the Nederland if the country of the bicycle... but what it is here? I think that the people take the bicycle from the home to the station to go to their work places. On the web site of the Nagoya town, I have found an english web page on the Recycled Bicycles.

C'est ce que j'allais dire, męme en Flandre et aux Pays-Bas, on ne voit pas autant de vélos... C'est un peu chargé comme photo mais dans la catégorie reportage, c'est excellent! Bravo!

Le sujet est vraiment intéressant , le nombre de velo est inpressionnant et presque tous les męme en plus , bien vu .

This could have been taken in my hometown Lund, Jacques, outside the railway station. The amount of bicycles parked in a last minute rush for the train. Even the strict regulations on bicycle parking on the Nagoya web site are the same and - as shown in your picture - the response is equally low. You made a nice image of these vehicles, keeping a low angle and if you'd cropped off the left side (just left of the man) the composition would have been even tighter. Well done.

Well Jacques, this array of bikes almost looks like it were to extend into infinity; very impressive to see such a huge amount of them at once. At first I thought about suggesting a crop closer to the bikes, but I really found myself liking the street life details you included in the background, as well as the guy on the left who gets this greenish illumination from out of the shop that he is just passing by. Well done.

Idée trčs originale et intéressante cette prise de vue Jacques. Cet imbroglio de vélos est impressionnant, je plains les malheureux propriétaires pour retrouver leur bicyclette et l'extraire de l'amas général. Il faudrait prévoir des plaques d'immatriculation !
