‘Vang Vieng - Jigsaw puzzle in the valley’
Seen from higher up the shapes of the fields reminded me of the particles of a jigsaw puzzle.
The photo was taken close to the blue lagoon number 3 near Vang Vieng.
Compared to number 4 number 3 was very busy with tourists and did not really appeal to me.
Also, almost all day the water pool was located in the shade of a steep mountain slope.
At the end of the pool, a small path led to a cave in the mountain side.
The cave was not so special but another path led up the slope to a viewpoint.
There these three photos were taken. Several times I hesitated which one would become the main photo.
My lesser appreciation of the blue lagoon is purely my personal impression.
There are many more people who enjoyed themselves at the blue lagoon and didn’t make the small climb to the viewpoint.

Good evening Paul,
Yes, spotted the two figures on the WS field picture. Wonderful three posts here.
Most times we see a checkered fields pictures, but the terrain contour-lines dictates the lines we see here, must say in a nice "painting" over the entire valley.
The high mountains ridge on the far side, gave a "frame" to the whole.
My best regards,
Ike

Hello Paul,
Another enjoyable set of three photos. The main one and WS #1 (with two ladies in red!?) are very similar in composition, but the light and tones are quite different. I wonder how much time that passed between those shots. Or maybe you just processed them very differently? They are both nice, and the impression of a jigsaw puzzle seems quite relevant. The wider view in the other WS seems to be in a different direction.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Paul,in fact this seems a big puzzle, especially watching your close up in the WS. All the signs of the dry season on the rice fields after harvest, great shots very sharp as usual. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Goedenavond Paul,
Misschien een van uw minst foto welke indruk maakt0.
Maar dit neemt niet weg dat de foto zeker geslaagd is.
Qua kleur en het spel met schaduwen maakt uw foto toch zijn waarde
Goed foto werk Paul,
Nog een prettige avond,
John

Bonsoir Paul,
Le casse-tęte des terrain donne un certain dynamisme ŕ la scčne. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des terrains et des montagnes. La lumičre met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. bonne soirée.

Hello, Paul, The three photos are all nice but rather similar to each other. Maybe I prefer the one with the whole mountain. The view of the fields from above is attractive. Are they paddy fields here? Without water and in this colour they look unusual.
Best regards MAlgo

HelloPaul,
It certainly doesn't look cloudy on this photograph, in fact, the b/g hill is creating a distinct shadow with the effects of the sun.
The irregular fields do give the impression of a jigsaw, with neatly interlocking pieces covering the whole of this flat section of land.
I like how the f/g trees link with those in the b/g to act like a natural border and giving a good sense of depth.
It is only when we try to focus on the two figures that we truly understand the scale of what you show here!
It's amazing!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Paul,
it is quite an interesting phenomenon to see such a very flat surface among the high mountains. It is really really flat. Maybe it has been smoothed out by people during cultivation over many years. Great point of view, nice series of photos.
Very well done,
M

Hallo Paul,
De vele lijnen maken een heel mooi patroon in de gelige velden en de schaduwen geven daar nog een tweede patroon bij. Mooi uitzicht over dit landschap vanaf een mooi punt.

Hello Paul,
The date explains the hot, dry landscape. Summer is usually hot wet and very humid. Mornings can be cool in January though. A superb panorama of the rice paddies from the lookout with good sharpness and repetition of patterns. Tfs!

Dag Paul,
Groet Rob

paul
a nice upper view with these many small fields with different shapes. curious aspects as a fields was created. each one has an history I suppose. I remember in the village where my father was born and a big olive tree had three owners during the 1960's..
take care

Hello Paul.
Really the division of these plots is a puzzle, I wonder if it had not been easier to do it in rectangles or squares, ideal surroundings of mountains and forests.
A magnificent range of colors, in very attractive tones.
All the best for you.
Very best regards.
Luis.
