Photographer's Note

i couldn't resist posting this shot ...

while in luang prabang i went to a temple that is on a hill in the centre of town. it was quite a hike up the steep steps, but the temple was a really nice place and well worth the hike.

at the top i looked around and enjoyed the view of the small city and surrounding countryside.

the temple was full of young monks, pictures of whom i posted earlier, and the temple spires were beautiful and white against the blue sky.

that became the subject of my attention and i shot quite a few photos.

this shot turned out nicely. a touch overblown from the midday sun, but still a good shot (in my opinion) ... especially against that clear, flawless sky.

in post processing i did edit out a small roof edge jutting into the shot past the spire. i didn't want it in the shot so i edited it out. normally i don't like to edit photos aside from contrast, saturation and sharpness. but i really felt that this shot needed it.

love that sky!
