This was taken at Hmong hill tribe village in Laos, north of Luang Prabang.

This little boy was carrying his baby brother on his back; you can see a little hand peeking from behind

Great photo this one! I like the colours and their expression. I was wondering whose hand was that when I read the note. Such a burden for a so little child.

Greg: a really fine use of DOF here. I'd even be interested to see it done oppositely: deepened; but you achieved what shallow DOF intends: isolating your subject. Technicals are crisp here too. regards, c

Hi Greg ,this photo looks like a scene of a film.
dirty clothes ,carrying a baby ,but has a strong expression on his face !!
There is a story in this picture .
I also like this composition and clear colour .

i just adore shots with people on, and this one is just like a movie scene.. the background blue is equisite, and the focus on the kid is just great..

A strong photograph with the child looking out of the frame, great lighting and bokeh...a publishable work.

I have seen these folks first hand as well and many of the Hmongs seem to be truly suffering in Laos.

Great document here, sad situation.
