Photographer's Note
Taken in Luang Prabang, Laos...in a H'mong Village. When I am faced with these children, I couldn't stop myself from taking one shot after another. Their spontaneity is what photography is all about.

Hi Manuel,
Two great eyes gazing at you; how can you stop clicking! Im totally with you Manuel and I can understand your passion when you have such charming subjects.
I like the way you have isolated the forefront kid with a wide aperture, while achieving an impressive sharpness where you wanted it. Light is sublime, creating a highlight in her eyes, and flattering the skin. Lovely and compelling portrait!
Regards,
André

Your photos are always full of beautiful tones- from the girl's smooth skin to her 'coloured' hair.
When you 'work the eyes', do you select the whites only and whiten them as one of your steps? If so, what do you do in PS to the selected white area if you dont mind me asking? You manage to keep all the white shades in there without overexposing them.
A great shot again - cheers.
Dave.

Dear Manual,
This is fantastic portrait! Great lighting, composition, facial expression, and a very moody and emotional photo. The out of focus girl in the background adds even more. Why are you not working for National Geographic? You are truly a master portrait artist.
Sincerely,
Stan Obert

They are definetly great eyes staring up at you...no question. It's a great shot, too! The TrekEarth photos capturing the spontaneity of children from all walks of the world (and especially Asia) is quite extraordinary. Your photo is just another wonderful example.

excellent! you captured something very deep in this shot! I love the seriousness and wisdom of the first kid while the one in the BG seems a little more mischevious. superb light!

What talent!
A raw shot of a beautiful child... full of emotions, and questions. It is, as always, an excellent shot from you!
Lovely focus on the eyes and incredible detail on the hair. The inclusion of the second child in a blurred background is perfect.
I thought images like this could only be painted... :D
Thank You for sharing such a magnificent shot of Life!

Hey Manuel,
Your 'spontaneity' is a much higher level than most of us do. The connection is always there with you and the subject. Those eyes sees you through the lens, radiates the innate feelings of a child in your images.
All the best!
