35 Degrees w/ 95% humidity, a photo from Johor, West

Photographer's Note

A participant in the Desaru International 1/2 Ironman.
The temprerature was absolutely scorching, which is visible here; not only in the sweat of the participants, but also the visible grain of the photo which I believe is due to the heat (as I was using 100 ASA).
So hot that the event organisers arranged to have a stream of water spray out for participants to cool down with (visible behind the contestant in the forground).

I used a circular polariser to help balance the photos. The sun was so bright that without it, the pavement and anything white would end up overexposed.

Tremendous action shot, Dan! Your depth of field is very well chosen to focus on the closest biker. The spray of water is also a fun and welcomed addition here.

Hey Dan, really impressed with this shot, love the DOF and the water spray really adds a nice element to the photo. I cant see anything I would change, and this is most definately going on my favorites list. Well done!

Excellent composition, with the main subject off-centre and balanced by the others behind. The water sptay adds that extra touch. Well done. Did you have the 300mm fully extended as I imagine from your POV you would have been in the way with anything less?

tendinitis forgive me to do it nowadays, I also must admit that getting older, i became a bit less courageous.... i used to love doing it in the 90's.. a nice catch Daniel
The splash of water is very nice, covering a geat part of the screen.

Hi Dan, attractive bike picture, you captured the heat and the drops very well. Good light. Wow, this must have been heavy for them. The drops are really nice.
I guess the ironman is a traithlon? As their niumbers are painted on their arms and legs?
