The last round, a photo from Sagaing, North

Photographer's Note

A group of nuns dressed in the pink robes wander the streets of Monywa, making their last alms round of the day. Stopping at shops and homes collecting mostly food and sometimes a few kyat.
It is not a solemn affair and often the young nuns can be seen having fun and enjoying their walk outside the monastery and their studies.

Hello Elaine,

This is just an ordinary street with bikers, possibly heading home, but the small group of nuns, dressed in pink and highlighted by the low sun, brings the whole scene to life!
How good to be dressed in pink!
Usually nuns have to wear sombre black, edged with white.

Hi Elaine, The value of good composition and lighting is well demonstrated by this image. Although the subject matter is interesting and, for me at least, exotic, the late afternoon sun lighting up the nuns and their placement in the frame make it a winner. Cheers, Steve
