Photographer's Note
This young owl had been injured and caught by the villagers. It was destined for the cooking pot, until someone from our guesthouse rescued the owl. He was looking after him feeding him prime fish and prawns from the kitchen and waiting for his wing feathers to grow back. By the time we left the guesthouse the owl was having flight trainings on the beach every day.

Wonderful story, Elaine.
You could photograph him pin sharp, excellent.
I once raised a magpie that I found underneath a parked car in the center of Amsterdam.
Thanks and regards,
Gerrit

Hello Elaine,
I've always found owls very beautiful birds.
It may be because their eyes are both in the front of their heads. On the other hand, they also have a beautiful feather coat.
I like the yellow rings around its big black eyes.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Elaine,
This fish eagle had a lucky escape.
I could not imagine it being consumed, so your notes tell a story with a happy ending.
The bird is wonderfully sharp and detailed, especially the huge eyes, which carry so much intensity and character.
You show a fine example of shallow dof.
Keep safe,
Bev 😊

Hello Elaine
I can see the tether on his leg. Great capture of the eyes on this bird of prey. Hopefully he will be on his own soon. Nice capture.

Hallo Elaine,

Heel mooie foto, bedankt.
Hou het veilig in deze bange dagen,
John

Hello Elaine,
Who would want to put this owl in the cooking pot if he looks at you so intently.
It must be fascinating to see such a beast recover and make its first flying exercises.
A wonderful opportunity for some special photos
Excellent work.
Be careful and stay safe, Rob

Hello Elaine,
Beautiful owl and perfectly taken picture. It was posing and looking directly to you.
I never had the chance seeing one owl alive or flying, though we have owls in Israel, mostly in the plains up north or a diff. specie in the Negev desert.
Have a nice new week, stay well,
Ike
