Photographer's Note

I don't think Bagan needs an introduction, I won't repeat what has been written many times before. It was not our intention to visit Bagan this trip having seen in a few times in the past and wanted to cherish the older memories, however friends of ours were visiting Bagan and we were so close-by plus it was my birthday, and cherished memories or not, how bad can Bagan be for a couple of days with friends. Of course, we saw changes, e-scooters bouncing across the dusty paths, many, many more tourists in the main temples. (Asia is now the new market for Burma, now the Europeans numbers are dwindling) but despite this it is still very much possible to find yourself almost alone in beautiful spots and enjoy Bagan and your birthday with friends.

A spectacular panoramic view of Pagan and it really is quite magical. The bullock carts are perfectly juxtaposed while focus is on the ancient pagoda. The effect of dust is quite something really.....

Hi Elaine,one of the most beautiful pics seen on TE from Bagan! It seems a pic made 100 years ago with old carriages, I think for tourists, bottom right. And even the dust takes me back in time. Wonderful composition,close to be a painting,and great quality despite the dark light,the pic of the day,no doubts. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Elaine,
Belated but best wishes for you birthday :). Bagan is so big area that one can be alone quite easily. And it is a marvellous place. I was there only once and I wouldn't mind to see it again and experience the magic atmosphere. Nice view of the cabs waiting for the customers.

Elaine, wonderful ancient temples scattered in the dry countryside. The horse carriages are waiting for some customers. The vegetation is mainly composed of thorny plants. I see acacias.
Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.
