Photographer's Note
In my mind, always the least attractive shop in a Burmese market. The butchers. While the market is full of colourful fresh vegetables and flowers, the meat section is always set on the outskirts, always with a couple of dogs roaming around hoping for titbits. This again is Gwa morning market, the women buy the meat from the surrounding stalls and the butcher here, will chop, bone or mince as desired.

Hello Elaine,
In my mind the butcher shops in any tropical or subtropical "Third world" country make me consider becoming a vegetarian, at least temporarily. I almost get sick just watching them. But watching this photo makes me happy. I like the B&W tones, the woman with the hat in the middle with a woman with thanaka on her left side and the man sitting on the bench to the right. While there is a strong central focus, these two persons on the sides stretch out the composition and make the entire photo interesting.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Elaine,
I think I’m glad that you opted for b and w, when focussing in on a butcher’s stall. I have not witnessed them in Myanmar, but have in Pakistan.
However, in your photograph, it is not obvious that this is a meat stall, it’s just a well composed photograph of of three people, in quite a shabby area and all clearly defined.
Keep safe,
Bev 😊
