Photographer's Note
Please open in a new tab for the large view!
The Burmese fishermen who have mastered an unusual technique when it comes to padding their boats, balance carefully on one leg, and wrap their second leg around the oar to guide the vessel through the freshwater lake. As there are many reeds and water plants in the lake, standing on the end of the boat helps them have a great view and can lead the way better.
it is disappointing how the quality of the photos deteriorates more and more.
I am not participating in this pointless and lying game:
“you scratch my back and i'll scratch yours”.
It is funny to see how most members write positive critiques and give full points to photos of poor quality.
By the way:
Do you know that you can not eat these green smiles?

Hi Ronny, everyone knows that sometimes the quality of the photos is not the best, but everyone prefers to point it out in the critics and not to offend the author with a low-level smile .. hehe ... so they are free :-). Anyway a good photo from you, perfect timing and very good details on the fisherman, really good at steering the boat in this precarious balance. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Ronny,
I guess you took the photo early in the morning or late in the evening. Beautiful light on the leg rower and the houses.
Interesting low point of view close to the waterfront.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Ronny
Every one, I think, would prefer only high quality photos but many of us try to make helpful suggestions as well.
In the case of this photo it is a great subject showing that rowing technique but could have been a touch sharper despite the movement.
cheers

Hi Ronny,
excellent photo with this man, original technique as you write in your note. Perfect sharpness, I like also the warm light and these water reflections, tfs.

Hello Ronny,
Its a really atmospheric shot with stunning lights and colours. Also, the selective focus works well.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Ronnie, It is a very well know theme - the one leg rower from the Inle Lake, but I find this picture quite original. In miniature, the guy looks like a wooden doll. I like the colours - beige and brown everywhere. “you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours”. It is how I see TE. Not much from me these days.
Best regards MAlgo

Hi Ronny
The light makes this pic look great which is precisely timed during golden hour! A smartly framed of the iconic one-legged fisher in glorious tones and exposure add to a great composition. A glimpse of his environment so beautifully portrayed, Excellent

Hello Ronny,
This is a photograph which immediately draws attention! Not only do you wonder how the fisherman is balancing so carefully but also, why is the boat not tipping up!
You have taken the photograph late, or early, when the sun is low, warming the fisherman and the houses and creating a lovely atmospheric glow.
It is no problem to critique a photograph honestly, in the hope of helping other photographers. Although some respond negatively, most people are happy to receive suggestions, myself included.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
