this is the original photograph

this is over the u bein bridge. it is made of teak and is over a km long, the longest of its kind in the world. in the evenings there are locals who flock to this place. even though there are a lot of people here, the atmosphere is far from chaotic. it is really really peaceful there. these are 2 monks from a monastery nearby. burma is the only place where i saw monks who have draped their cloth over their heads and it looks very nice. i met some really amazing people here, all extremely soft spoken and polite. there are some boats in the background as well.
this was taken late in the evening when it was about to get dark, so the photograph is kind of dark (just like my other photographs) i dont want to brighten it and lose the atmosphere. i love this photograph it is one of my favourites from my trip because it really makes me miss this place
i really want to go back there.:((((

please bear with the quality of this photograph till tomorrow , i had uploaded the original in cmyk mode and so there was a problem. thanks to adam , the photograph was recovered after i guess he changed it to rgb mode, but the photograph has changed, so i will repost the original as soon as i can in the rgb mode. it has a totally different feel to it.so i'd appreciate it if you have a look at the proper photograph tomorrow

Well whatever the treatment, the effect is a good one. I wasn't too sure abou the framing to start with, but after consideration I think I like the rather unconcentional placing of the couple looking out of the scene. A pity about the tilt though.

Beaucoup de sérénité se dégage de cette superbe prise de vue, j'aime particulčrement l'effet de la douce luminosité sur la peau de la personne au premier plan.
Dommage que la main et le banc soient coupés ... quant ŕ l'horizon, il penche un peu, j' ai essayé un WS.

The feeling is great. The colors in the scene are wonderful and the framing of the people is very good, too.

Nice shot, the one I prefer from sohrab. I like the two monks not being in the center of the picture.
Unfortunately when I was there it was not permitted anymore to turists to cross the bridge, for "safety" reasons. It was a pity.

I like this unorthodox composition and the painterly rendition of the landscape, slightly different from your other more vivid portraiture.

The only thing that disturbs me a little is that their faces are slightly obscured by one another as they're looking towards a centred object off camera. I think stepping about a foot to the right would have 'corrected' this (or yielded a different picture).

On the whole it's very intimate thanks to you being so close, a WA employed at its best.

yes, you was able to capture a moment here. moment of happiness written on the faces of two monks. and the special atmosphere is made by the light on the water and the slow going boat. wow, i like this photo.

wow sohrab... this is an excellent photograph... the tilt is a pitty but that's ease to solve with skewing a bit :D... the composition is excellent and the mood it breaths is the feeling you can only have at this time of the day, but it's normally hard to capture, you did ;)...

Great shot of a special place. The monks sometimes swarm around you for English practice. I'm curious about your camera, traditional with a scan? the scanner?

Oh my God Sohrab, this is so great. I never get to see your pictures in colour and I am kind of a fan of colour (as you know). God the colour here is great and the subjects are amazing, natural, beautiful.

Amazing, it should have forty squillion smileys.
