Photographer's Note
Cho La is a summit pass located 5,420 metres (17,782 ft) above sea level in the Solukhumbu District in northeastern Nepal. It connects the village of Dzongla (4830 m) to the east and the village of Thagnak (4700 m) to the west. It was one of the highest altitude I had to go over during my Himalaya Trek. At some point near the top, I got really tire and I was gasping for air, but there was not enough oxygen in the air. I had to calm myself down and for the rest of the ascend, I walked very slowly with slow and steady breath. This view was taken at the summit.

Hi Way
awesome photo, awesome story!
glad to hear you made it ok.
I encountered altitude sickness in Peru, so i know exactly what you are talking about. Headaches, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, shaky legs, feeling tired...it can get pretty scary.
its an A+ for the photo! well worth the effort right?
was this part of an organized tour trek?
excellent shot!
cheers

Hello Way,
You nearly always show us the most fascinating natural sceneries of the world, and what could be more impressive than the Himalayas? And yet the five trekkers walking through the snow create maybe half of the effect of this stunning view. The superb sharpness and light management definitely play a great role too.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Way,
Awesome picture, the sense of scale is sub by inclusion of the people, and the mountains look so majestic and beautiful. I love how the scene is natural in thirds with the mountains, snow and sky. The sky has such a vivid bue that I guess we here on sea level don't see vy often. Sounds like a difficult trek, but worth it to capture a scene like this. Really nicely done.
Cheers

Hello Way,
What an impressive view of the mountains. You captured it with great sharpness and a fine sunlight. I like the contrast between the snow-covered and uncovered mountains. Good inclusion of the people too.

Hi Way
This is an impressive photo in its own right but having read your note I'm even more impressed with your perseverance to create images in spite of the hardships of the trek. The highest I have been was 4,200 m above see level so I can imagine 4,800 is really tough.
Great composition with lots of layers and lines one of them being the line of trekkers which adds the most welcome sense of scale. Also the direction the trekkers are heading in implies a journey into the rocky wilderness visible in the distance.
Have a nice weekend

Hi Way,
Views from a glacier are not very common even on TE! Rough world, I could never imagine reaching such a place myself. So I settle on the cable lifts of Switzerland.
Excellent contrasty shot like you always have. People give good idea of the scale.
From a European viewpoint it's hard to imagine there's a village as high up as 4830 m.

Magnificent hi altitude durned cold snowy mountain landscape Way! The atmosphere looks so clean and invigorating with this crisp and fresh clean shot, what a great experience you had and this has a wonderful feel to it and sure would be everyone's cuppa! It's superbly composed this way filled by such wonderful light & shadow, good whiteout exposure, rich colours tones and textures, and I just like the way the single lined trekkers stand out against the snow and deep blue sky adds to the contrasting values well. It's a photographer's dream! Breath taking and Top class photography. Congrats
Best regards

Hi Way,
Your picture shows the majestic mountains at that corner on the earth. People are insignificant comparing to the mighty nature. This picture consists of every element a great picture should be. Its kind of jumping from a photography magazine page. I totally enjoy it.

Hi Way,
This is truly spectacular scenery. The slope of the mountain emphasises the difficulty of this terrain.
The climbers included in the shot are a real bonus. The snow here adds an even greater sense of awe to the image.
Nice tone of colors also with excellent contrast.
To get to this viewpoint must have been hard work, but certainly worth it for the views you got here.
Superb!
Best wishes,

Hi Way
Trčs beau paysage de montagnes sous la neige, la lumičre illumine le paysage, les couleurs qui sont sensationnelle, les randonneurs sont si minuscule et donne une présence de vie a cette belle composition

Hi Way
I always enjoy looking at all your uploaded photos and here is no exception. Perfect density levels, thoughtfully composed, good timing to get the trekkers exactly in the right spot, and good sharpness and colour saturation. I know the sky appears much bluer at high altitudes. I like the scalloped fg snowdrift. Tfs!

Actually 'La' means 'Pass'...so the name should either be Cho La or Cho Pass :-)
Tremendous achievement of doing this harsh trek...the men are antesque in front of the massive Himalayas...I like the formations in the FG...like small waves.
Beautiful picture of a harsh pristine territory!

Hi Way,
this is a spectacular landscape and as usual a masterpiece of composition. I like the array of multiple layers here. The mountains themselves provide already two layers with different color, and they are set against the beautifully polarized sky.
People walking the path in a line make a fantastic addition here, giving a hint about the scale.
Amazing colors and I admire the perfectly balanced exposition which is quite challenging having the bright snow together with darker areas at the same time.
Excellent work!!
