Photographer's Note
This photo is from our trekking to Everest Base Camp some two years ago. After reaching Gorak Shep little late, we decided to climb up the Kalapatthar in the evening. So we gear up to climb to reach the altitude of 5545 meters, and after about two-three hours of climb, we reached the top of kalapatthar. We took some shots while sun was there. But as the sun is on the way down, the red light it spread on the Everest was really amazing. Per the local guides, we are fortunate that we were able to see this view, because this do often happens. At that point, I said.. "woah... this is what I am here for... the altitude, the pain, the triedness is nothing in compare to this. "...
Thanks for looking

Hi Ashish,
A wonderful moment on the most famous peak on the planet. I saw this sight in person about 2 weeks ago and will never forget it. Your image is of a slightly higher perspective on Kala Patthar. To see it at both dawn and dusk was a real treat. I like the contrast between the illuminated rock and the subtle snow under it. Beautiful work.

Hello Ashish,
What an extraordinary photo of the "Top of the World." I would have guessed the actual colors to be a little more subdued, but your description, based on actually seeing the site has to be the best source. So you are at 5545 m, gazing up at 8850 meters (this is the new height accepted by National Geographic).
Warm regards

Excellent contrast betweem the two parts of the mountains, showing the huge difference the sun makes. The part on the top seems fiery, just wonderful. Congratulations!
