Photographer's Note

Ekle Bhatti at 2780 meters (literally "One inn") is a small village which lies halfway between Jomsom and Kagbeni village in the gorge of the Kali Gandaki. Right next to Ekle Bhatti, a suspended pedestrian bridge about 100 m long crosses the Kali Gandaki. It can reach the locality of Dhagarjung.
This is one of the few stretches where the trek is on consistently flat ground for over 5 to 6 km. We walk along the Kali Gandaki river and at places, the path is along the wide river banks.
Because we trek along the gorge, there is the continuous sshhhhhhhhh...... of the wind. There is no respite from it. It is powerful, and after the sun sets, it is cold. I found that in this harsh, cold desert, the wind chill factor would hit us hard. With wind speeds at a minimum of 30 mph and a temperature of around 0 to 5 degree F on sundown, the effective temperature hitting the body would be about -19 to -20 degrees F. The Frostbite time on exposure is expected to be in about 30 minutes.

Bonjour, cher Arunava,
La version large nous plonge dans un décor de ręve. Je remarque au premier plan, ces pierres de couleur, et puis, au loin les montagnes sauvages et dénudées.
J'ai l'impression de ressentir la forte chaleur régnant sur le site.
Merci de nous mettre en condition d'une aussi belle façon.

Hello Arunava,
Those colorful stones in the plateau on the FG, made this scene so attractive. Unbelievable shine.
The landscape view in late autumn, no snow and little vegetation gave a feel as a desert - but looking at the Google-map for this place, near the Annapurna reservation, we know this by far not a desert.
Nicely combined the close range area with the mountain ridge behind, and the village in its trough.

I like your low POV, including such a large part of the colourful stones in the foreground. Along with the many dots on the mountain slopes in the background, they create a nice pattern.

I like the low viewpoint and the myriad of coloured stones to be observed in the river bed, which contrasts nicely with the brownish tones of the background hills. All in all the landscape looks very inhospitable and your description makes me shiver! Excellent technical realisation.
