Photographer's Note

A street portrait of a wandering Hindu sadhu at Durbar Square in Central Kathmandu, Nepal. A friendly and easily spotted person in his fiery saffron coloured robe & matching turban, long white hair & beard. His forehead smeared with yellowish powder paste topping with red marking of the symbolism of Lord Shiva.

Sadhus devote themselves to spiritual life, own few possessions and typically depend on donations to survive.

Bonjour Abmdsudi,

Quel beau portrait. On ne peut pas approcher de plus prčs un ętre humain ŕ moins de vouloir l'embrasser. On peut presque compter les poils de sa barbe un par un. Trčs jolies couleurs.

Hello Abmdsudi,
An excellent portrait of this man and the narrow composition is superb. The details of his face, beard and turban are clearly seen and especially the yellow parts and the red marking on his forehand stand out in this photo. Very well done.
