Photographer's Note
This is the early morning view of Dhaulagiri (8167m) from Poon Hill, one of the most popular, spectacular and easy to get to viewing points in the Nepal Himalaya.
It is only a couple of days walk from the nearest town, Pokhara, which can be reached easily by bus, taxi or plane from Kathmandu.
Many people get up before dawn to ascend Poon Hill from the village of Ghorepani to experience the spectacular panaroma which includes the mighty Himalayan peaks of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Tukuche peak, Dhampus peak, Annapurna I (8091m - the first 8000m peak to be climbed), Annapurna South, and the very beautiful and sacred "fish-tail" peak of Machhapuchre (6993m) amonst many other snowy white peaks.
The experience was made all the more special by the rising sun lighting up the oak and rhododendron forest in all the surrounding valleys with their red and pink blooms just emerging, on the two times I visited there at the end of March.

Wow, what a picture - awesome.
I like the contrast between the cold blue and the golden yellow. I get the feeling that its scanned from a photocopy, and should be cleaned from some dust. Maybe darken the sky just a little bit.

This is a great composition. Excellent framing, perfect equilibrum between the sky, the mountain and the foreground. Good DOF and sharpness, great contrast between hot and cold colors. Personnaly I would have cropped the person on the left but it's just a subjective opinion, I generally prefer landscape shots without any human presence... Very nice, I like this very much. Congratulations.

Great picture. Unlike the prevous poster I really like the inclusion of the person, I like how he blends into the surrounding, he is wearing just the right colors.
It is really cool how the dark valley splits the picture, the darkness there is almost like some kind of transparent fluid.
It is a pity that the mountain tops are a bit overexposed, but with the morning sun on the snowy mountainsides, it is not so strange. I really want to go to this place some day...

The landscape unbelieveable, the light also great. But i think a man at front should not sat on there. The whole frame like a painting "moi indie"

J'adore le contraste des couleurs froides et chaudes. L'équilibre est parfait entre le premier plan et l'horizon et les montagnes, aussi bien au niveau des couleurs que des proportions... J'aurais aimé faire cette photo... Bravo !
