Traditional Nepali rest stop. The first level of stonework is perfect to rest your basket or other load on. Then you remove the head strap, and relax a bit before going on. A large tree provides welcome shade, planted when the resting place was constructed, donated by someone as a gift to the Gods and man. These men carry anything from chicken cages, ten foot beams, to refrigerators, on their backs for days through rugged steep mountains from a single strap hanging from their head. (The Maoists have destroyed many of these rest stops, cutting and selling the trees, and tearing down the walls).
