Lodge transport
Sherpas bear unbelievable weights sometimes close to 100 kg ; we have witnessed carriage of a lodge in parts; here the plywood walls!
Summits in front of us are Nuptse, 7861m and Lhotse, 8414m

Les Sherpas portent des chargent invraisemblables parfois proches de 100 kg ; nous avons été témoin dun transport dun lodge en pičces détachées ; voici ici les cloisons en contreplaqué des murs !
Les montagnes ŕ l'horizon sont le Nuptse 7861m et le Lhotse 8414m

superbe..j'ai mal pour eux (le poids , la marque des cordes sur les mains, le dénivelé..)je penserai ŕ eux lorsque je chargerai des matériaux dans ma voiture...
magnifique endroit, dommage pour la pointe de la montagne...

Hello, Georges--
Nice work here, i like your idea to communicate the immense labor that the Sherpas undertake, and the anonymous composition is effective in communicating the way in which they are far too often unrecognized for the part that they have played in the climbs of the highest peaks. i feel like this is a touch overexposed and that it would have been nice to have included the summit of Lhotse in the frame (or to have cut off all of the skyline above Nuptse), but overall i like what you saw here.

I saw them carrying up metal windows, complete with glass and barefoot.

This illustrates the terrain well, shame the summit is cut off slightly.

Une image qui nous montre la dure vie quotidienne des Sherpas, un peuple qui habite un pays sans route et oů tous les transports se font ŕ dos d'homme. Je me souviens avoir été doublé par un homme qui portait un énorme frigo tandis que je peinais dans la montée de Namche Bazar!
C'est vraiment dommage pour le sommet du Lhotse....

Thanks for sharing this photo as it is a reminder that we must not forget the porters of this world who carry unbelievable loads often with barefeet. Pity about the cut off summit otherwise excellent, Marlene

Assez incroyable effectivement.
Je vois trčs bien la comparaison avec les Porteurs péruviens du Camino Inca, qui portent le męme niveau de charge, au pas de course dans les sentiers ancestraux, comme ici: http://www.trekearth.com/workshops/943838/photo142626.htm

Hiyaaa what a great opportunity and well captured!!

I've seen a porter carrying a fridge up to the mountain, I wonder what for.
