Photographer's Note

If it was meant to be...

I was on my way to lunch with my friends. I spotted him, a person with so much presence and character that any wannabe photographer cannot resist. But my friends had been complaining about how I got so much into my photography that I don't go out and relax with them. So I did ignore his commanding presence. I said that after lunch, I'm gonna look for him in the same shop that I spotted him.

And indeed I did. Unfortunately, he was gone. It was not meant to be...

That's wahat I thought. The next day, when I went ot the store of one of my Boracay artist friend, he was there. And he willingly obliged to my request to pose for me. I took close to 50 shots of him.

RALPH is one of the itenerant Boracay artist. He paints Henna tattoo, among others. His body is full of interesting, intriguing permanent tattoos. The one shown in the picture is something that you would either love or hate. It's (the tattoo, not the subject of the tattoo) the least of my concern. To capture the strength of his character was foremost in my mind then.

I hope I did justice to his commanding character.
