CHURCH SAINT MICHAEL ARCHANGEL, a photo from Yaroslavl, Center

Photographer's Note

I was going to a big monastery, walking in front Kotorosl river, when I saw this marvelous church and another, in white.
There was a church in timber here during medieval age, this church was linked with the military and was built as we see here during 1657 to 1682. It was abandoned, stolen, had some objects of art sent for museums, it was closed by soviet government in 1924 and came back to the church in 1994.

Eu estava indo para um grande mosteiro, seguindo as margens do rio Kotorosl, quando encontrei uma igreja branca e depois uma igreja vermelha.
No lugar dessa igreja havia um templo de madeira na era medieval. É uma igreja ligada aos militares e o que vemos hoje foi erguido entre 1657 e 1682. Depois da revoluçăo comunista a igreja foi abandonada, teve vários objetos roubados, outros foram levados aos museus e acabou fechada em 1924, tornando a ser uma igreja em 1994.

Hello Jorge,
It's a pretty church, quite small and relatively simple but very charming. The colours go well with the surrounding trees. You had a reasonably good light and managed a very good exposure. The colours are nicely strong.

Hello Jorge,

This is another church that you found in Russia, with a very similar history to all the others. However, this really is a beautiful building, with towers, a trio of domes and lovely contrasts between red brick and white decorations. Your exposure is sharp, presenting us with clear details.

Hi Jorge,
one more fantastic church in this town. I am very impressed with the number of these structures and their beauty. This yet has another shape and color. Even the cloudy weather did not affect the beauty of this church.

The trees are framing well the church. The point of view is showing the details of the St.Michael Archangel church. The cloudy sky is giving a good contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.

Very striking with its red & white facade and tower.
The colour of the domes matches the surrounding trees better.
This church has only one tower.

Olá Jorge, estou curioso para ver que grande mosteiro vocę estava indo. Vou ver :). Também tenho fotos dessa igreja, gostei das cores. Mas eu năo estava lá dentro. Elementos típicos da arquitetura russa, como por exemplo a forma do portăo. Sempre acho engraçado quando leio que vocę năo mostra todas as igrejas que viu. Bela foto, embora vocę possa esperar até que o carro vá embora. Mas também estou impaciente.

Esta iglesia no necesita sol, para lucir esplendida con este color rojizo y blanco, me encantan la diferencia de sus volumenes, su torre,sus cupulas de cebolla,un bonito conjunto.
La nitidez es excelente y la luz espléndida.
