Photographer's Note
This picture was taken up in the Eastern Sayan Mts at a altitude of about 2000m. It is the border ridge of the plateau of NW Mongolia and seperate that region from Siberia.
The Eastern Sayan belongs to the Burjatian Republic which is part of the Russian Federation.
The Buryats, numbering about 450.000, are the largest etnic minority group in Siberia. They are from Mongolian descent.
You can see old lava, this is because this shot is taken in the surroundings of a vulcan, the Kropotkin (2050m). It is a beautiful open area with a lot of mosses and lichens.

Hello Jan
It is a photograph of adventure, in a place not very enlightened and rather worrying, but very pleasant to see. The landscape is interesting to discover. There are few images of this place:) an good image, a good document. Cheer.
Have a nice day
Cordially
